Not a lot to review here--this is a very nice cast iron bread oven, which doubles as a skillet as well. I've been picking up a lot of bread proofing baskets lately, because I got into baking during the lockdowns, like so many other folks, and I've been looking to level up my bread skills. If you're in the same situation, you really need something like this. I've seen ones made out of cast iron and others made of unfinished stoneware, and I now have both. From my experience, you'll get more oven spring with cast iron, and you'll get a crispier, but thinner crust with the stoneware. So if you can get both, I would recommend that. But if you can only get one, get cast iron. One other thing to note, ovens like this are easier to get the bread in and out of than a traditional Dutch oven that is more like a saucepan, because the bottom part on this one is shallower. Also, the dome on this one goes a bit higher than on most traditional Dutch ovens of the same volume, which allows for just a bit more oven spring because of the extra head space. Overall, this is now an indispensable part of my bread baking process. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to boost their bread game.
The Krustic Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven is a great addition to any baker's collection. The shape of the dutch oven is unique with the lid being large and the pan being shorter, it's really great for baking bread. The book that comes with has the recipe for making your own sour dough starter and bread. It also works great for rolls-the lid keeps the moisture in while baking and makes a nice soft rolls with a nice crunchy exterior. The bottom has a 2 inch side and could also be used to roast a little chicken or vegetables in. The handles are very sturdy but for me a bit small with oven mats on-maybe a little improvement needed there but otherwise a quality dutch oven with many baking uses.

I first used it to bake bread, and the results were excellent. The 5.5-quart capacity is perfect for baking a standard sourdough loaf, and the shape of the pot makes the bread take perfect shape. Its three-layer enamel coating is not only durable, but also distributes heat evenly, ensuring that the bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with excellent baking results. The lid of the pot is very tight, which can retain the moisture needed by the bread during the baking process, making the bread more fluffier. What's more worth mentioning is that it also has a non-stick silicone mat to prevent food from sticking to the bottom, which is very easy to clean. The red appearance is also very attractive, whether it is used for baking bread or making other stews, it adds color to the kitchen.
My husband's happy to make his famous sourdough bread on this ceramic-coated cast iron Dutch oven. Good quality with both ease of use & quality baking & cooking in mind. Both the ceramic coating & silicone mat ensures that the material that touches the food is safe & can be easily taken out. Its heavy like most cast-iron pans. He loves the big cover that ensures that his bread has plenty of space to puff up & out. He's used this to cook meals too. But he thinks this makes a great loaf pan.Greatly recommended.

Really helps to keep the food evenly cooked. Fits in the oven easily. Forms the dough to the classic shape every time. The enameled coating makes a huge difference for the cast iron. Let me explain.Cast iron using a traditional "seasoning" method can absorb food particles. We have a case of severe allergies in our house and work very hard to prevent cross contamination. With the ceramic coating, the iron doesn't absorb particles, so we don't have to triple wash/scrub after every use.

I am a big fan of Staub and LeCreuset and I wanted a bread baker like this but the size I wanted was over $300. I bought instead and love it. The best deal out there. Do not consider paying more. This dutch oven is perfect for a bread baker.

I make a lot of bread. This is the best. I used to cut a "sling" out of parchment paper and use an old cast iron pot I had. I decided to splurge on this one and it really makes a different in ease and cleanliness. Bread is better than every and even easier to make. Good purchase.
